An utterly charming 19th century double shoe silk pin cushion. The pad on one of the shoes is slightly harder so could be an emery for cleaning the pins and needles. The red silk is just lovely and in such good order.  

There is an inscription to the cream silk base of the shoes with a date of 18.10.06.  This could be 1806 or 1906, if it is the latter I think the shoes are earlier than this date - 19th century. All hand sewn.
