Early 19th Century Regency antique tambourine with original paint and decoration. The red paint is very similar to that found on bottle coasters of the period as is the gold painted decoration. I think the vellum top may be a replacement, but what is so wonderful is that underneath there is part of a map so they reused the vellum.
