A leather Victorian card case and aid memoir.  Lovely leather, gold tooling and petit point panels.  The top removes to expose a car case and a pencil (not much left but it is original).  The front then drops down to show a note pad and a diary for the week.  Some signs of original writing.  The case has had one small old repair.
